A Book, A Give-Away, A blog tour, and a dream come true - DANGLED CARAT

“So, guess what?” I said to my husband as I pursued the internet, early one morning.

As usual, I didn’t give him the chance to answer. I just continued.  “BlogHer is having a writing conference in a month, in New York!  And it is about converting a blog into a book.  I’m going to go!”

“Mmm,” he answered.  Clearly he was more interested in what was on his laptop….

DangledCarat-Amazon-Kobo-Smashwords-Apple-2500x1563The month flew, and before I knew it I was at a hotel in New York City surrounded by amazing and talented women. As expected, I learned a ton about the business behind books, and met some great bloggers that would later turn into friends.  But something else happened….

As I sat at a round table, with Kathy Raddigan, from My Dishwasher’s Possessed, six other bloggers, and an editor from Penguin, discussing memoirs,  I knew I couldn’t procrastinate anymore. I had to try to accomplish my dream. I had to start writing my story about my attempt to convert the ultimate commitment-phobic man into a husband with a lot of help from his family and friends.

And I did!  I started writing that weekend!  Six month’s later I had a completed manuscript, but Dangled Carat needed a lot of polishing, and Christina Baker Kline, New York Times bestselling author of Orphan Train, helped me do that polishing.

I started editing the story in October 2012, one year after I typed my first words.  Unfortunately, thanks to my good friend Sandy (AKA Hurricane Sandy) I didn’t get too far. But eventually I did get back on track… and now….I am thrilled to share that my dream is now a reality!  Dangled Carat is available everywhere Ebooks are sold and a print version is also available on Amazon!

I am giving away one autographed signed copy, one $25 Victoria Secret gift card, and one CD by my very dear friend, Sandi Rose, “when you believe.”  This is the first of many giveaways to follow!
