This article from Psych Central details a young woman coming to terms with her diagnosis with Borderline Personality Disorder.  Many mental health professionals believe that "we do not want to label people" and avoid telling patients what they have.  The only real treatment is through self monitoring and awareness -- hard to do if you don't know what is causing the feelings of angst, loneliness , and creating the lack of impulse control combined with emotional volatility.  

This College Coed Finds Relief in Knowing

Many patients are angry or defensive when told the diagnosis is Borderline Personality Disorder.  This young woman finds it a relief to understand her situation.  This is the way forward.  I admire her courage and self reliance.
