Boston Celtics - Confirmed Tank Mode

celtics tank confirmed

So I was at last nights Celtics - Rockets game last night and it was so incredibly obvious that the Celtics are better than their record, but are in tank mode.

First off Avery Bradley scored 16 points in the first quarter and was on fire early.. The Celtics had just hopped out to an early lead over Houston, but entering the 2nd quarter Bradley got no touches and sat for the second half of the second quarter. This move man no sense as the Celtics should be looking to ride the hot hand, or at least leave the hot shooter on the floor. the result? during the second quarter the Celtics not only lost their lead but were offensively anemic (16 points) and fell behind by 9 points after allowing 33 points.

Celtics --- Too Much Talent To Win

The second example is Jeff Green's lack of playing time. Although Jeff green didn't have a particularly good game he still is relied on as your main wing man scorer. And in last nights game he only logged 28 minutes mostly in the first half. With Terrence Jones using his freaky athleticism to destroy the Celtics inside, the C's could have used their own athletic wing man to counteract him.

Thirdly is the playing of Faverani. When the Celtics really needed to make it back into the game Brad Stevens threw in Faverani. Dwight Howard immediately went 4-4 in the next several positions until Faverani was off the Floor. What was Brad Stevens thinking putting in the finesse big man on Dwight Howard.

Patriots - Broncos Preview

Lastly is the almost complete exclusion of Marshon Brooks this entire season. This is a guy who with the New Jersey Nets averaged almost 13 points a game. He has a smooth stroke and has solid length at the two. When he came in for garbage minutes last night he immediately looked like a more efficient offensive threat than the likes of Gerald Wallace, Jordan Crawford, and Bayless. He's already proven as a solid NBA two guard so why isn't he playing on a weak Celtic team.

Last night it simply seemed that the Celtics had every chance to win this game against Houston but made several personnel decisions that are downright outrageous. The tank is on so lets buckle up for a draft.
