I last saw him when I was 16 (I'm 37 now) but I still think of him. I still love him and think he's special too. We used to go fishing and he always had a good sense of humor...he must have to be still married to my step mom. (That's why I haven't seen him, she threw me out when I turned 16 and I haven't heard from him since)

Dads are those special guys that the kids run charging towards at the end of the day, or can only kiss certain boo boo's. Certainly in our house they are.
They are the fun guys, and the hard workers. I don't know where I would be without my dad, or my husband!

made me even more aware when I married my husband of the importance of the role he would play in our children's lives. I couldn't ask for a more amazing man to be the Father of my kids. He gives up everything. He would never dream of putting anything else in front of his kids. He spends all of his free time with them. I am so very blessed.

My dad is an amazing man. He is humble, loving when you do not feel you deserve it, willing to take on any challenge that this family brings (you have no idea), loved by many but willing to brush it off as none, he is amazing.

My Father was always there for me! I knew that I would always be taken care of and picked up from school, college, appointments etc. on time. My Father made time for me! I could always count on him! Thanks! senekers@comcast.net

Unconditional love… he loves his children no matter if that love is returned. He loves his children no matter what they have done. He loves his children no matter how old they are. He loves his children, their spouses and their children simply because they also love his child. Unconditional love!

It is a special dad who is there when you need him. I am glad I have one.

My Dad is special because he was always there for me, and later for my children. He sacraficed to give all of us a better life.

A special Dad is a Dad who says how proud he is of his daughter and can make a 44 year old woman feel like a six year old who came home with a star-filled report card.

they carry traditions on from the past. Camping, fishing, road trips, our dads are the links to our call to nature that's as old as life itself.

What makes a dad special is always being there for you no matter what and always having a special place in his heart.

My dad can fix anything, usually with lots of skill and little parts. But the toughest thing for him was when my sister and I had our hearts broken and he couldn't fix them. Big softie.

The lengths that a dad goes to protect his children really makes a dad so special. It's amazing how the protective instinct kicks in.

My dad abandoned us, and his next family as well... So while I can't speak from experience I can say that my mom made (and still makes) an awesome dad with zero help at all! Hardworking & always put us first, no matter the cost to her in time or energy. Amazing to think about.

Giving of himself so his children can grow and become responsible adults. And love, lots and lots of love.

I think what makes a dad special is having that great, personal bond with each of his children...really 'knowing' your children...What made my dad special was that he was just a very unique person, I have never met anyone like him and I never will again...He just had that special sparkle in his eyes, he was so funny and silly :D

What makes a dad special is that he actually takes the time to listen to your dreams and helps you to achieve them. He makes you smile even when you don't think you'll ever smile again. He makes time for you even when he doesn't have any extra time. My dad was the best and I miss him.

I ALWAYS CALLED MY HUSBAND "DAD" ONCE THE KIDS WERE BORN-IT JUST SEEMED TO FIT BETTER THAN FRANK OR HUBBY. HE WAS AN EXCELLENT PROVIDER, SOMETIMES JUGGELING THREE JOBS TO SUPPORT ME AND HIS TWO SONS. A VETERAN WHO GREW UP NOT KNOWING HIS OWN FATHER. WE ALL
KNEW HE COULD BE COUNTED ON RIGHT UP UNTIL THE END JUST SIX YEARS AGO. HE IS VERY MUCH MISSED.

My dad did a great job teaching me about finances. I'm so thankful for those early lessons of, "10% for church, 10% for savings, 80% for you."

A Dad is special when he takes interest in all the things his children do, not just the ones that interest him. He will let his children know that whatever they do in life is acceptable as long as it is honest work. He will show how proud he is of their efforts whether they succeed or not.

My father is a social worker and has helped many people out his entire life. There are a lot of former clients that credit him with turning their lives around.

My dad was in the navy and gone for six months at a time but you remeber the small things like the phone calls and the little gifts he brings you.what made them special is they were from him. I never got to see him much but a dad is your dad no matter what.I lost my dad a few years ago way to soon but I never forget what he did for me in my life!

Dad is special by being a continuous unchanging presence in my life. Through his example I've learned perseverence.

My dad is special because he has come through many struggles and dark days to land where he is today. He beat alcohol abuse and he beat a business crash. Through it all, he's remained true to himself. Dad is at a place now where he has become mellow and less stressed out. He is a really good dad and I'm so lucky to have him.

I think the daddy in my house is special because he is an awesome provider. He is forever working hard so that I can stay home and be with our children. He knows so much stuff and is just amazing to be around.

He helped me get through College!

Dads are special because they have this amazing way of communicating without saying a word. If they're angry, it's WORSE if they don't yell at you & if they wanna bond with you, they may ask you to hand them tools while they work on the car.

Knowing that his kids always come first. I think that is the thing I love the best about my husband. He comes home after a long day at work, sometimes with a splitting headache and will smile, hug and answer any of the 100 questions our daughters may have for him.

I seen a chair called a papason, so I started calling my daddy that. What makes him so special? I used to get a wake up call everymorning "waking up sallywetz you are burning daylight" or "you have the life of riley"(after I got married,(I sure miss those calls now that he is gone.) He would be there in an instance if I needed anything from car help to tending my two daughters. He always listened to me and my problems and help me find the best way to solve them myself, or with his help. He taught me how to be self-sufficient, and how to do things. I miss our commaradery. I miss the man who influenced my life by giving me gospel principles, and going to church. I owe a lot to my papason. I will alwayas be grateful for his love and guidence.

A good Dad loves their kids unconditionally. He supports them and encourages them.

like his own, even though they were teenagers when we met. He loves that they call him Dad, and that he is the grandpa to their children. He is their Dad, no question about it.

I think it's easy for dads to take a back seat with raising the kids because the moms just seem to know the kids better - probably because they were inside of her for 9 months! So it makes a dad special when he find his OWN way to have a unique relationship with each of his kids.

My parents didn't have a lot of money, but my dad made things for me. He spent time with me and as a family. What good are "things" if a child doesn't know his or her father and have positive memories and a good role model?

His special and unique brand of ultimate love, loyalty, sacrifice, humor, compassion, empathy, wisdom, etc., (of course, I could go on).

My dad is super special. He calls me his princess and made sure I always had everything I needed and almost everything I wanted, too! It wasn't until I was older that I realized how hard he worked to make that all happen for my sister and brother and I. I truly appreciate it now. He moved across country to be near my sister and I, so my husband and I moved 2 miles from my parents to be closer to them! When you have someone that special in your life, keep them close and cherish all those moments you have together.
