Breast Cancer Signs

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and so it's important that you take this time to get all the information you can to know about breast cancer.

Breast Cancer is a scary form of cancer that happens to be about 1 in 8 women in the United States. Although there is no way to really prevent cancer from happening since we aren't quite sure what contributes to it, you can be aware of the signs that may indicate that you have it.

Breast Cancer affects men and women of all ages and races; however if you're older and a woman you're more likely to have it.

Now, don't be fooled, you can still get breast cancer even if it doesn't run in your family. Only 20-30% of women diagnosed have it in their family, which means 70-80% of cases don't have breast cancer in their family. So it's important to know your body, know the signs, and do your monthly exam or get regular mammograms.

Most times there are no signs that show on the outside of your body to indicate that you have breast cancer but if there are...they may be:

1. A lump on your breast or around the area

2. Secretion from your nipples

3. A dimple in your breast
