Brett Stanton in the running for Asshat of the Year!
By Betty Fokker on June 02, 2013
Did y’all know that Northwestern Georgia was a hotbed of liberal idealism? Me neither!
However, apparently the school superintendent of Tallapoosa has found a radical socialist and has taken steps to remove him as a threat to Law and Order and Children and Apple Pie by firing his commie ass. Yes, Brett Stanton (an upstanding American) fired Johnny Cook, a 60 year old bus driver for the Haralson County Middle School and a clear and present danger to morality.
Mr. Cook had the audacity to post this to his private Facebook page:
“A lil flustered this evening.
A middle schooler got on my bus this evening and said mr johnny im hungry. I said why are you hungry buddy? Didn't you eat lunch ? He said no sir I didn't have any money on my account. I said they would let you charge it? No sir.
Huh! What! This child is already on reduced lunch and we can't let him eat. Are you kidding me? I'm certain there was leftover food thrown away today. But kids were turned away because they didn't have .40 on there account .
As a tax payer, I would much rather feed a child than throw it away. I would rather feed a child than to give food stamps to a crack head. My number is (…) the next time we can't feed a kid for forty cent, please call me . We will scrape up the money.
This is what the world has come to.”
Can you believe it! That lefty hippie thought hungry children was something bad, rather than a valuable lesson to teach them not to be moochers!
Moreover, it was all a filthy lie spread by Occupy Tallapoosa, since Superintendent Brett Stanton said that “the district found no evidence the incident occurred. Stanton also says that he's never received a complaint about a student being denied food in the five years he's been with the schools”. So there, Mr. I-hate-freedom Cook!
Of course, there is “the fact that multiple Haralson County parents posted on Cook's Facebook account that their children had also gone hungry when they didn't have money for their lunch”, but who are we going to believe? A bunch of parents whining because their precious brats didn’t get enough food, which probably effected their school performance and health, or Brett Stanton?
Bret Stanton is above reproach! Why, this year alone “Brett was selected for SACS CASI AdvancED District Accreditation Protocol and Standards Review chairperson training, and he was one of a handful of superintendents selected to serve as Trustee for the Georgia School Boards Association. In addition, he was just named one of five superintendents in the state of Georgia to participate in the Schlechty Centers Superintendents' Leadership Network with the endorsement and sponsorship of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.”
Moreover, even if some kid on reduced lunch didn’t get his food it ain’t like this is a big problem, since the school system has “a free and reduced lunch rate of 65% in the overall student population”, which isn’t even 2/3 of the student body!
I am sure every one of you wants to tell Brett Stanton what a fine job he’s been doing to make sure no one rat’s out his schools for letting kids go hungry. You can contact Stanton at email@example.com or via phone numbers 770-574-2500 ext. 228 and 770-574-2225
