I am a new wifey (since June!) to my husband Shawn. We have a mini petting zoo of furbabies: 3 kitties, 2 rats, 1 ferret and 1 pug! 9 out of every 10...

Ok I'm REALLY into an orange front door, especially since Shawn said "go" to it for our house. We both just agree that it's too soon to paint the house (4 months-fresh) even though we are just NOT tan/beige/taupe house people.

I think taking this baby step towards hanging our freak flag will get the neighborhood used to us. Here's some other orange doors that are GORGEOUS.

 MMmmmm to this color!

So which front of our house looks the best?!

You pick! Tell me in the comments!

I believe we will pick door number 1... I didn't expect this kind of amazing feedback! Thank you so much!

Hi there! I like the middle example with the #'s running parallel with the siding. On another note, orange door--so fun!

What about doing the middle door and painting the numbers orange to match?

pinestar Whoa! Like painting numbers orange to match....Fondly, Robin

I don't like the F.

The firefighter family in me will tell you that the numbers arranged left-to-right on top of the door are the best for safety should the fire dept (etc) need to find your home. The design lover in me will tell you that the numbers on the left add height and drama while still acting as a slight-bit-slower safety function.

Take that and do what you want with it. :)

LOVE the orange!

JennaHatfield Agree on the "F." Don't like....

Great note... I didn't know that! We'll choose the safer one. We live here mostly and look at it least, so I'd rather be safe AND cool!

Number two for sure. The numbers across the top make your house look shorter and boxier. The "F" is too much. Some orange flowers and/or orange pots would look nice, and they'd help nail down your color scheme.

I painted my front door purple once. Loved it on my soft green house. When I had to sell the house, it took two weeks in a very depressed market. People like pop. :-)

The second one is the best - but you need to add something else in orange!

ButterflyLady Ha! Yes....back to painting the numbers orange and LOVE the orange flower point idea...so clever....

I don't suggest putting an "F" above your front door, unless you want your kids teased. The top numbers are too big for house. Your door is fairly small, so the orange color is not overpowering. The lighter orange blends better with the gray paint. You need something orange in a planter or garden outside to support the orange door. That way, orange becomes your accent color rather than a one off.

I like the top one because of the color, but also like the numbers above the door better.

I like the first one, it seems like the brightest to me. If you're going to go...go big!

I like the first door best. The orange does make it pop! My mom always had a bright red door or crimson door. Ours is boring brown but if I can ever get approval from the HOA I might just paint it a bright green. Or maybe even without HOA permission.....

I vote middle door, with 1st door a close second. Thanks for the fun post, I just marked it as featured. I have a yellow front door with a red screen door on top of that. Love me some colorful doors http://pinterest.com/naughty_sec/knock-knock/
