Need an answered prayer?

JMJ Do you have a prayer request? A special need?  Well, I spent all night placing a live webcam to Lourdes, France on my website, including a little mailbox to their prayer request email.  All kinds of weird computer problems kept cropping up, and I kept offering them up as a prayer, which did help to keep me from being annoyed.  Then... This morning I got an email from a friend who told me that today is OUR LADY OF LOURDES FEAST DAY!  Wow.  I had no idea!  That is just so cool... ...more

Blog o sphere: Here We Come

Last year was full of firsts for us; our first babies; our first time entering the workforce as  mothers; our first resignations realizing that motherhood and the corporate world don’t always mix well, or the way you want; and the first time we started a business. It has been a tumultuous time!...more

Will the real {insert name here} please stand up?

Cameron Diaz gave me an "ah-ha" moment today. Trust me. No one is more shocked. I was listening to last week’s Real Time with Bill Maher podcast and already pleasantly surprised when BAM! She said something so deep, so enlightening that I almost had to pull over. She was speaking about how the public can love you one moment and hate you the next... "It's like a relationship," Diaz claimed, "they just want you to stay there because they've arranged it somewhere in their head to identify who they are by liking who you are..." ...more

I can definitely identify with what Diaz was saying. I'm a "late bloomer" and learning more ...more

Is Your Colleague a Jerk or Just Different?

Let's face it, we've all worked with one. Someone who drives us so insane because they don't think like we do. It's like Felix & Unger of the Odd Couple do The Office.  Makes you want to scream Jerk!! on the top of your lungs.  Yet, is that person really being a jerk or do they just fall somewhere else on the cognitive continuum than you do? ...more

Ahh... the holidays are upon us... Images of sugar plums dancing in our heads while dreaming if Santa Claus will be providing us with treats (or a big fat lump of coal) under our Christmas trees. Workplace Differences: Gen Y Beat Up By Gen X?

Is it just because Gen Y entered the workforce, or is there another reason this topic of generational differences in the workplace has bubbled to the top of the conversation?  Truthfully, I never gave it any thought before I heard Jennifer Gleeson Blue and Maria van Hekken talk on the subject last June.  I spent over 17 years in Corporate America so of course I knew there were differences in the way that people of different ages worked, but that's about as much gra...more
