Giving Is Down, but What Does That Mean?

It doesn't need sugar-coating. The economy has made life difficult and different for families all over the country in all kinds of ways. We've seen blog posts about budgeting, cutting out unnecessary spending and going without extras. But the recent news that charitable giving has dropped 100 billion is a big indicator that we're all cutting back. Everywhere on everything. ...more

Learning To Pick My Battles

At their young age, they have experienced two tragedies: becoming orphans at an early age, and now being displaced again by the earthquake. Thankfully Madame Tiresias and Sylvain took in the children into the “Service aux Enfants en Difficulté” orphanage (“Service to Children in Difficult Situations”). ...more

Celebrating National Women's History Month

Women's History Month-related photos will be available for viewing directly on the Flickr account. A YouTube video campaign AAUW staff members will be filming short videos about women they are honoring during Women's History Month that will be uploaded to AAUW's YouTube channel.
