Butter London Nail Laquer - A Recession Friendly "Wardrobe" Update

As my purse strings clinch tighter and tighter I've been trying to find new ways to update my wardrobe - to make it fun and exciting for me even on a serious budget - and I've found that nail polish is the cheapest way to fill that little hole in my fashionista heart. And Butter London's line of 3 Free Laquers, which contain no formaldehyde, no toluene and no dibutyl phthalate, is full of fun, edgy colors that are perfect for lending just that little bit of pop to that old thing hanging at the back of your closet. Be forewarned, however, these colors are not for the faint of heart.

At $14 a bottle they're pricey enough that I haven't yet found a way to justify buying the whole line, so here are my favorite colors right now:

Big Smoke

Big Smoke is a dark metallic navy color that I'm wearing as I type this. It adds just a bit of edge to neutral outfits, looks great with jeans and drives my mother crazy, which makes it more than worth it.

HRH

HRH (as in Her Royal Highness) is a real royal purple. 'Nuff said, right?

Thames

Thames is an aqua-colored bottle that requires multiple coats, but your hard work pays off with a stunning, jewel-toned hue.

Artful Dodger

I know the picture is very blue, but Artful Dodger is more of a teal - I like to pair it with contrasting bright colors, but it also looks cute with grey.

Royal Ballet

Royal Ballet is a fairly typical pale pink/nude, but it has grey hints that make it more interesting. And it makes my mother happy. Plus it's not everyday that I feel like I can pull off teal polish.

I totally want British Racing Green! And~ I've read that they're going to change the packaging for the fall line, which hopefully will mean a little less awkward application. I'm a big enough fan that I can deal with the rectangular lid, but hopefully they'll work on that. But yes, I'm really looking forward to those new fall colors. Scoundrel (a "purplish muave") looks interesting too.

HRH is definitely the purple I'm wearing this year!

I also have Big Smoke, and want to get Branwen's Feather (purply-black). I'm also looking forward to some of the new fall colors (British Racing Green! Pearly Queen!).
