If you have not discovered Bakerella, (www.bakerella.com) and you are a Mom or involved with whimsical people you should! There I said it! I found the bakerella blog a while ago and fell in love with her little treats. She started with simple baking tips and recipes. Then she ventured into cake balls then BAM! cake pops shot through her creative spirit. This is where cute Angie Dudley found her calling. Cake Pops are delicious bit of mixed cake crumble with frosting molded into balls then dipped in to melted chocolate or melted candy wafers. Push a lollipop stick in the 1 ½ inch ball and decorate with candies. They are oh so good. Once you try one, you will be addicted to these little bon bons. What I enjoy most about them is the novelty of creating little reindeer, turkey, or mini cupcake shapes out of them. I need to find a way to post photos of my creations. Now she has a book! Finally, I bought it and it was worth it. The book is called, no surprise, "Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 irresistible Mini Treats". Many colorful images to draw inspiration from as well as good cake mix/frosting combination suggestions. There are cake pop ideas for the whole year. They are bite size and yummy. In addition, everyone is usually so impressed by them, I shamelessly have to say, I love the accolades. I highly recommend trying to make them. I love to decorate rather than bake but this is a nice way to practice my baking skills too. Definitely something to check out. I have another favorite cupcake book to share soon.
