Candy Apple Aprons

Everything old is new again. Isn't that just the way it goes? Well, where aprons are concerned this is definitely the way. Vintage aprons are back! Time spent in the kitchen, less eating out, baking/arts and crafts with the kids, and good old fashion family values are making their way back into the main stream.

I think that becoming bogged down with busy lives we are all longing for a simpler life. Quality time with family slips through our fingers and good intentions to slow down never amount to much. A little step in the right direction may be taking some time with our kids, a project getting messy and cleaning up again or making a special meal for our loved ones.

This is what I wanted to come of my little aprons business. And not only for Moms but for all women who want to get back to basics. No, I don't mean "women should stay in the kitchen and clean up after their man", let's leave the stereotypical man/women stuff in the 50's. We've moved on, and I'm glad for that, but an apron can be used for more than cooking and cleaning. How about gardening, entertaining, gathering, women of the 50's never seemed to be without an apron. Why? Functionality. Who had money to buy a new outfit every theirs got stained? Protect your cloths and preserve some money. Money was often tight back then even for the middle class and we are not far from that today with our economic outlook. Why not save a little laundry detergent/stain remover, conserve a little water, and look dashing while doing it in our cute vintage aprons!

At one point  I considered marketing them as lingerie! You can't really reveal too much in a bib apron, except your back side :) And there's no need to question if men fantasize about French maids dusting the house when they come home from work.

Mostly Candy Apple Aprons are just fun to wear, whatever you're doing in them.
