I don't know how to do this effectively on BlogHer, but I've run into so many talented writers and thinkers, that this seems like a reasonable place to post a call for writers.

JUST CAUSE is getting ready to launch our editorial coverage of the issues that shape our world.

We are looking for writers to write feature stories for the online magazine. (And eventually the print magazine.) Our stories are positive and instructional in nature. We do not "bitch" about problems, we celebrate solutions in the hope of inspiring others to follow suit.

All of out editorial stories fall into the following 6 categories: Arts, Education, Environment, Healthcare, Civic Causes, International Issues. (Pretty much everything falls into one of those 6 categories.)

Moving forward we will have pieces of all sizes, but right now our specific need is for 1 Feature article in each one of those sectors. We are looking for stories that are national / international in scope. That celebrate innovation. Contain at least 3 primary sources, for balance, and are well researched. We would like to be able to develop "tool kits' from them, little bits about how people can do the same thing in their community, or join on the bandwagon in some way.

The idea is to inspire action.

We are looking to establish long term relationships with writers who can write for both the online and print magazine, recurring columns etc.....

WE do have budget for these first 6 stories. But it is small. Market right or just below market rate. But, going forward, we will be paying much more, just the growing pains of startup right now.
