Can I submit a photograph for the BlogHer masthead?

Yes, we'd love to include your photo in our new photo banner.

We're looking for photos that show what BlogHer's community is up to -- yes BlogHer events, but also your life and events.

To submit your photos for consideration, join the BlogHer Header Group and then share your photos with the group

We can showcase Flickr photos if they have a Creative Commons commercial license, that, by contributing to our pool, you'll agree to allow us to use on BlogHer.com.

To change your photo license to a commercially usable Creative Commons Attribution License, click on "Some Rights Reserved" or "All Rights Reserved" link on your photo page's sidebar, and select one of the CC Attribution licenses.

How long does it take to begin seeing submitted pictures in the masthead?

That depends

Not all photos will be selected and if your photo was horizontal instead of vertical it won't be displayed at all (I mention this because we have a lot of horizontal photos submitted to the queue and I have to deny them all immediately.)

Joy changes the photos in the masthead every few days, more often if there are a lot of photos waiting in the queue.

I like to keep my photo in

I like to keep my photo in my profile.So what shall i do now ? I dont know the procedure to to keep my photo .Joy changes the photos in the masthead every few days, more often if there are a lot of photos waiting in the queue.

Profile vs photo banner

You can maintain a photo in your profile, my response above was to questions about the photo banner at the top of BlogHer.com.

To upload a photo, log into BlogHer.com and click "my account". Click "account settings". Scroll to the photo area, find the photo on your hard drive, scroll to the bottom of the "account settings" page and submit. Your photo will appear. If you have problems with your photo, email denise@blogher.com for assistance.

Lookie! Lookie!

There is my mom! The lady with the sea view behind her. What a nice surprise.

She died four years ago - that photo was taken after her first lot of chemo, but she looks so great there. It was a happy day. So nice to see her unexpectedly. Thanks!

Is there any way...

...that people could find out who the people in the masthead are? Or ate least get to their blog by clicking on their faces? Maybe the blogher user name could pop up when the mouse hovers over the photo...
