Hello everyone!
I recently started my own blog and am having a blast. I am a 26-year-old woman from Ontario, Canada who has been living in Japan for the last 6 months. I teach English to elementary and junior high schools students in the Kumamoto area.
When I arrived here in Japan last August I was amazed to find countless fast food restaurants and junk food everywhere. I assumed that when I came to Japan I would lose a lot of weight just from simply assimilating into Japanese culture, they are supposedly the healthiest people in the world. After spending six months here and not losing a single pound I decided I needed to take control. I didn’t understand how I was able to maintain a weight of 260 lbs while everyone else here was stick thin. I decided to start doing some research about what a typical Japanese person eats and then follow this eating plan.
I started a blog to keep record of my progress and to have a place to talk about my daily struggles with weight and culture shock. I really hope you get a chance to check my blog out. I would love to start having some discussions about the topics I talk about. Thank you for reading!

have you seen JeninShanghai
She blogs about losing weight while living in China. Somewhat similar in that the Chinese are often significantly smaller than Jen is.
(She can't visit your blog because China has blocked blogspot/blogger blogs, but she'd probably love to talk to you here on BlogHer.)
