Carbs, Carbs, Carbs!

Since being diagnosed with type II diabetes my life is suddenly revolving around carbohydrates. How many carbs are in that is the question of the day usually. And how can I make that have less carbs in it? That is my favorite – usually meaning I am trying to fit something I love that is probably not carb friendly into my diet. 

Another question I find myself asking is does that come in a sugar free option? I am slowing finding there are lots of sugar free options for a whole lot of things I like. 

My family and friends have been very supportive as well. When we go out to eat or have dinner at home they ask what can you eat? Where do you want to go so you can eat too! My friend Rita and I have found the perfect place to walk. When I go back to the Dr in June I expect to see a weight loss for sure! 

All this making changes has been good for me. It has caused me to focus a little bit on myself for once. I have to take the time to grocery shop and read the labels and decide do I want to spend my carb count at that meal on what ever it is I am contemplating at the store. 

After this last weekend celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior I was reminded about how much he loves me. He loved me enough to take my sin and disease and hang on a cross for me. Because he loves me! 

John 3:16 NIV

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, That whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 

I encourage you to join me in my sprucing up and making changes – if there ever was a time to get right with God this is it! Don;t let another day go by and you not be sure what your future holds! I would be happy to help in what ever way I can!
