Hi. My name is Denise and I am a BlogHer addict. I am also a Twitter addict. Thankfully, BlogHer Chatter allows me to feed both of my addictions at once. (Now if I can just convince it to bring me coffee...)

BlogHer Chatter provides OAuth functionality that allows me to Chatter as often as I like and have my messages sent automatically to my Twitter stream.

Did you notice I said OAuth? That's right, we've updated our Chatter to Twitter functionality to better protect your online privacy. This also means that if you set up your Chatter to Twitter functionality prior to August 18, 2009, you need to go back to your BlogHer settings and update your Twitter settings.

It's really easy to set up, let @hedonia show you how.

Log into BlogHer.com and click Settings from the My BlogHer menu.

My BlogHer Settings

Scroll down to the Twitter Settings section of the profile settings page. Click the Connect to Twitter button.

Connect to Twitter

You will be taken to Twitter where you will enter your Twitter name and password. BlogHer will not store your Twitter log-in, just an authentication key that allows you to maintain a connection between the two services.

Twitter Sign in

Once you sign in to Twitter, you'll receive a confirmation that you're connected and you'll be taken back to your BlogHer settings page. Your BlogHer Chatter posts will now be sent automatically to your Twitter stream.

You are connected to Twitter

Enter a message in the Chatter box and submit by clicking the Update button.

Chatter

You'll see this message appear at the top of the page, telling you that your message was sent to Chatter and to Twitter.

Posted to Chatter and Twitter

Look at your Twitter stream and you'll see the BlogHer Chatter message has appeared as a Tweet with from BlogHer Chatter messaging.

Tweeted

If you decide you want to stop sending your BlogHer Chatter to Twitter, you can easily break the connection by going to your BlogHer Account Settings or to your Twitter Privacy Settings and clicking Revoke Access.

Revoke Twitter Connection

What are you waiting for? Set up your Chatter to Twitter connection and take advantage of the opportunity to send 140 character messages to both of your addictions communities at once.

We're always eager to hear your feedback or suggestions for new tools and improvements. Leave a comment or send us a note via the Contact Us form. If you have any problems, I'm happy to assist.

Thanks for responding. :)

Please put it down as a wishlist item for me. :) It shouldn't be too hard to implement, judging by what I hear from my programmer-husband. If that helps at all. :D

that option is not available right now. We might offer it in the future, though.

Are there any plans for changing this functionality so we can have our tweets show up in the Blogher chatter stream? I'm always connected to Twitter through desktop or iPhone clients and that's far more convenient for me rather than logging in to Blogher and doing it through here.

I sync my tweets with Facebook using Selective Twitter Status, so any tweets I mark with #fb go to Facebook. No #fb, and it doesn't show up on Facebook.

Blogher could do something like that.

Here's how I save even MORE time! I have a installed a Facebook application that turns my twitters in Facebook status updates!~ Now, all I have to do is enter my status in BlogHer chatter, and it goes to my twitter and Facebook accounts~! It's amazing!

Our functionality only allows you to send Chatter out.

But, you can have your Twitter stream feed into your BlogHer.com public profile. Look at Elisa Camahort's profile ( http://www.blogher.com/haystackprofile/viewprofile... ). See the "sites" section? You can see all of her online presences feeding in there, including her Twitter stream.

Ok I know what Twitter is. I am not that antique!  But I haven't really ventured into that world.

If you can access a browser, from your phone, then you can Chatter that way. A mobile version is on my wish list too, but no it isn't here yet.

Is there any way to post to BlogHer Chatter from a mobile phone?  My life would be complete... yes I am a geek :)
