Lullaby that's exactly what I realized after I read your post and went on my hunt. I've reserved 2 others. :-)
lol kitchenmage lol it's not my addiction, it's my partner and her mother. lolol shelves, hahaha. I understand
Well that's the only Atkinson I have not read and the description does not look like her other books. Try some other, ladies ;-)
Denise, the extent of your cookbook collection is a deeply personal, private addicti...err, I mean avocation. We had to buy shelves. Twice.
kitchenmage, have you seen the cookbooks in my house? probably not, must find the photos, lol. aewsome.
More of a meta-book review but I like it a lot: The Cookbook Whisperer ( http://blog.kitchenmage.com/2007/12/the-cookbook-w... )
Probably because it was one of those books that causes TW to ramble. And those are rare.
I had thought that TW liked it. And I think the term post-modern was used. (Again, why do I remember this?)
oh the Atkinson thing, hahaha. yea yea, I think we did read it and now that you mention it, I know why she isn't a fave
I just reserved some Atkinson, including Behind the Scenes... I think we both read Emotionally Weird, why do you ask? lol
Denise, didn't TW read Emotionally Weird a few years ago? And why on earth do I remember that?
Denise, she is SO good! I recommend starting whith "Behind the Scenes at the Museum" it was grand!
Must figure out why Kate Atkinson is your favorite writer. Off to explore that now. Thank you.
Am re-reading Sophie Kinsella Shopaholic series now but don't know what to pick next...
As requested by Sassymonkey, here's a link to my recents readings :) http://obsessivereadingcompulsivewriting.blogspot....
Elisa - now you've confused me. I thought I'd read Skinny Bitch but... maybe not? Must go find out.
The first one caught my eye. I am not a Narnia fan but I do like Merely Christian. I think I have to subscribe to your blog. Good reviews
how about a vegan take on Skinny Bitch: http://homepage.mac.com/elisa_camahort/iblog/C1023... ( http://homepage.mac.com/elisa_camahort/iblog/C1023... )
I can't pick a favorite but I have all my reviews at http://ncsuzbookshelf.blogspot.com/ My upcoming one on American Wife will be good!
I feel like I've read other Elizabeth Flock books but... maybe not. I'll add this to my TBR for late summer.
I know, Monkey - I know! I think I didn't get it because of the move and then, well, life was weird. I just ordered it.
I just wrote up this one about lifeless marriage and having what thought you always wanted: http://allthumbsreviews.blogspot.com/2009/04/sleep...
I read Half-Assed in the car and kept laughing and reading things out loud that made the boy laugh too. You should bump it up.
& the writing book - either I've read it or I've read a lot of reviews of people who have read it.
Jen, I swear I'm going to read Half-assed soon. I thought I was going to read it like a year ago but it got pushed back on my TBR
And this is a GREAT book on writing that every writer should read: http://www.thispile.com/archives/book-review-writi...
I wrote this review of BlogHer Jenette Fulda's book: http://www.thispile.com/archives/book-review-half-... ( http://www.thispile.com/archives/book-review-half-... )
