http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn-to-knit is very good.

Here is a free ebook you can download: http://www.knittingdaily.com/Learn-to-Knit-Beginni...

If you join ravelry.com, you will find a lot of beginners groups, free patterns, support etc.

Happy knitting!

KnittingandPurling Thanks for the reply! :) I'm starting from scratch. As in "Knitting for Dummies" ... As in "What the hek do I do with these knitting needles??" :-) But I'll definitely go check out your website later today when my kids aren't swinging off my legs :)

LauraJMoranKnittingandPurling I totally taught myself with a combination of "Knitting for Dummies" (for reals!) and YouTube videos. Only they weren't really YouTube videos because it was pre-YouTube. ;-)

Hi Laura! I have a knitting site at http://www.knittingandpurling.com but it's not really for beginners. But I'm an avid knitter & would love to help or offer tips/pointers on anything knitting. Did you just pick it up & need help reading patterns or something?
