Tuesday morning question I actually meant to ask yesterday: how would the public react to the TV character House if the character were female

Bitch seems to be the consensus. Would people watch?

Oooh, great kitchen! She would probably be labeled a Bitch. House was so much better in the earlier seasons.

@Megan ( http://twitter.com/Megan )...I might have to watch that again. What I like is that, well.. . I can't say it until you watch last night's show!

Denise said the 'p' word about me. ruh roh. Thank you. Um, you would find the House character interesting. You are the best I know at...

@nelle2nelle ( http://twitter.com/nelle2nelle ) Oh absolutely, an excellent 2 part episode. One of my favorites.@zchamu You're right about Amber. She's House without the power.

@zchamu ( http://twitter.com/zchamu )... run with this... suppose the show was 'Amber'?

@Megan ( http://twitter.com/Megan )... digressing, but the last episode of last season is my favourite.

Isn't Amber meant to be the female House? She's got the Cut Throat Bitch streak but generally, her character parallels his.

It's moments like this when I am very proud of my friend RE aka nelle. Fabulous chatter topic, even if I don't watch any of these shows, lol.

@Lara ( http://twitter.com/Lara ) I agree, she'd be called a bitch but that's where the great acting comes in. You'd need an actress and great writing to give her depth.

This is a post I did last year that tells you more about House's character. http://www.blogher.com/women-living-hugh-lauries-h...

@Virginia ( http://twitter.com/Virginia ) I LOVE House. And he saves more patients than he loses. The problem with B. Smith was for me she wasn't at all interesting.

OK, I peeked, but will ask innocently, 'Brooke Smith?'

I'd like that character very much. I'm afraid she'd just be called a "bitch" tho instead of "romantically tortured".

I hate House. He nearly kills every one of his patients and he's unbearable. If he were female he's be fired (anybody remember Brooke Smith?)

I haven't watched last night's "House" yet. Hopefully tonight after "American Idol."

By the way, last night's House was rather interesting. ;-)

Oh you really should! The 1st season is better than the 2nd but the 2nd was still good. And Patty is something else!

I've not watched... guess I should!

The only current female character I can think of that's similar to "House" is Patty Hewes from "Damages," on FX. She's a badass lawyer.

I think it depends. If it got on the air in the 1st place, the actress would have to be excellent and then the public might go for her.
