September is back-to-school time for my kids, but now that the weather has really changed, it's back to school time for me. Unfortunately, I don't really need new clothes. After all, unlike my kids, I haven't grown a couple of inches since last fall. But I badly need to pep up my wardrobe. I went on the hunt for some new, not-too-expensive, very 2009 accessories. The following fit the bill because they combine two or more current trends, and they're inexpensive--a lot of fashion bang for the buck.
Having said that, the first thing show you is the most expensive thing I found. But these Dylan booties from Report, available at PiperLime are so perfectly on-trend that they're worth $90.00. The almond toe, shapely heel, and shirred vamp would look fabulous with pants or skirts.

The Holly flat from Coconuts, also available at PiperLime, combines purple, the round-toed ballet flat, and ruffles, and that's a lot of fashion for $59.
Old Navy is offering this black velvet fringed hobo bag, currently on sale for only $16.99.
Nordstrom has this fun Boktier-ish hobo bag--embossed faux leather, zippers, and tassles for $28.00.

What is 2009 without a statement necklace? 2008, that's all. This gold-toned filigree necklace from Banana Republic would update any plain long-sleeved top, and it's on sale for $29.99!

Now, you could spend a lot more money, but if you want to update your basics with some up-to-date touches, these fit the bill--and for less than $250.
