Random Compliments...

I like to cheer people up by

I like to cheer people up by making them or giving them little gifts. I try and send small messages via the internet and phone too so they can see I am thinking of them.

I'm a waver.

I run a lot so when I'm out on the roads I always wave to people -- whether they are fellow runners, walkers or out and about in their cars. I give a smile, too, to be friendly! I almost always get a wave back -- and usually a smile.

I brighten the lives of

I brighten the lives of those around me by listening and just being there. Sometimes I catch on to things they need or want and I try to be there to do those little things that might make their days and lives easier, whether it is help with something, running an errand, a favor, or just an ear to li help them unwind. their needs. Makes me feel good and I get smiles by doing those little things that go a long way...

Do the little things..

i like to do the little things that let people know you are thinking of them...bringing a pregnant friend at work her favorite cherry limeade, send an out of town friend flowers just to say hi, just let everyone know they are in your thoughts

Caring Cards

I LOVE to send cards to people randomly and sometimes annonymously!  I think of people who need to be cheered up and I get to writing and mailing.  It is true, it is more blessed to give than to receive.  And I find such joy in giving little words of encouragement to those who need it!

Always...

You may not be able to afford more than a simple smile. I'm always smiling and often receive a smile back. You give and receive cheer!!

Cheer from Children....

Children brighten our days in more ways then one... when you getting them up early for school just look into their eyes and you will see the early frown turn into a brighten smile.... What better way to wake up and start a day..... BRight smiles and days full of cheer....

Cheer Soldiers far from home

I send several packages a month to soldiers who are serving our country overseas. They are far away from friends and family. They love letters and care packages that let them know people remember them and appreciate their service for this country.

I try to brighten the lives

I try to brighten the lives of others by listening. Sometimes all it takes is a good friend to lean on in order to get yourself out of a slump... I try to be the friend people can lean on at all times! :)

Random Acts of Kindness

Something that I try to do (and train my kids to do) is to act in response to what people say in unexpected ways.  For example, recently one of my single mom friends mentioned that she had wanted to go to a special party that night but that her childcare plans had fallen through last minute.  After whispering to my husband for a few seconds, we volunteered to babsit her daughter overnight.  The mom had fun at the party and we got our "little girl fix" (we have 2 sons).  It's fun!

Laundry..

Ok.. this sounds weird, but my laundry is actually how I brighten my family's day.  I make sure the sheets and towels are really fluffy and smelling good.  I love how my kids sniff their clean sheets and go "MMmmmmmm.  Thanks Mom!"

I got my parents a puppy

I got my parents a puppy after my dad had a stroke. My mom said it brought his laugh back. I can say she (Baby the Maltese), has brought us all a lot of laughs and brightens our days every day.

Comment!

I leave comments on other people's blogs because I know that I always feel great when I see that other people have left me comments on my blog!

I do a lot of baking for my

I do a lot of baking for my co-workers.  I am a nurse and my co-workers & I can have pretty hectic days, so it is nice to have a sweet treat when it's crazy busy!

Passing photos along

I email photos to friends and family I know will be interested. Sometimes I create personal photo gifts.

Making People Smile

I enjoy making customers smile at work. If I can be a bright spot in their day, then I've done my job. A couple days ago, an older man who was probably in his late 70's walked by the desk and said, "Are you always this happy?" I told him of course I was. :) Now, I'm not always Miss Bubbly, but I sure enjoy it at work!

Making people happy

I find that a little heartfelt note or card goes a long way.   I always try to remember to send people cards even when there is no occasion for them.  It is thoughtful and people respond well to it.

Thoughtful gifts for no reason

When I stumble across something small, but perfectly suited for a friend or family member, I almost always get it and give it to them out of the blue.  Because the gifts are for no reason, people know that I'm giving them just because I care and not out of obligation.

Brighting up other peoples life

I work with about 10 animal rescue groups who get dogs and cats from pounds. These pounds places would kill them because of them being there too long. I volunteer  my time to drive the animals from one place to another so that they can get good loving homes. I don't get paid to do this and some times we drive for about 10 hours. We have gone from Starke,Florida down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Most of our trips are only about 5 hours. This includes the time to go to the places to wait on the paper work , get the animals, drive there, wait on the animal rescue groups and drive home. In the summer time this can be a long and hot time. But I get alot for joy just knowing these poor animals are getting new lease on life.

SPEAK to people

They don't expect it.  The other day, there was a lovely lady on the elevator all dressed in coordinating shades of yellow. Unusual, yes.  Classy, YES.

I told her she looked very regal.

She smiled, laughed, then offered that she was afraid I was gonna say she looked like Big Bird!

:)

Snail Mail

I love to send snail mail to friends and family. It always cheers up my day to receive a note in the mail, nestled in between the bills, and I suspect that others like to receive bright envelopes with a note from a friend inside.

A Laugh

I offer a little comic relief.  Laughter is the soul's medicine.  I think a laugh goes a long way to brightening anyone's day.  You can never go wrong with a laugh.

Sometimes I wink too, especially at kids.  They never expect that and they always try to wink back.
