BlogHers are rocking with some wonderful posts in the Sex and Relationships category. I'd like to share the joy (and the pain) by highlighting some of my favorite posts from the last few weeks with you. We've got marital troubles and solutions, pregnancy scares, and three bloggers posting regularly on BlogHer that I've been enjoying very much.
Let's talk about them first. Are you reading cameron mackenzie, J.D. Bauchery, and clueless newlywed?
UK-based Cameron is working on a book and living with a guy for the first time. And she's "Miffed I'm A MILF."
J.D. Bauchery is sharing her vast porn knowledge with us, complete with newsy items and link love. (Right back at cha!) Recently she shared, "What I Want," which featured a pic of hilarious underwear. She wants you to tell her what *you* want, too!
And Clueless Newlywed Nikki has just started sharing on Blogher, and I already can't wait to hear more about her adventures. My favorite so far involves her "Time Out" Location.
Now for the cherries. There are so many great posts, but these are some of my recent favs:
AlisaB asks Are Men Clueless? "About a year and a half ago, my good friend Deb talked me into working on my marriage. I’ll always remember her advice, 'Men are clueless,' she told me. 'He probably just needs you to tell him what you want.'" And so she did.
HipMom visits the Lost and Found. "I had found, unexpectedly, a kindred soul in a place where I felt different from everyone, like I was never going to fit in." But it wouldn't last forever in quite the same way.
Jadegreen asks The Hard Questions After the Marriage Bomb. "So, one day, about a month and a half after it started, my friend told me that I needed to know something...but my husband had to be the one to tell me. I asked him what the heck she was talking about, and he told me. They had had an affair." She's struggling with what to do next.
Mommygirl says Pardon Me. "Rob picked up his 30 Day chip from Alcoholic’s Anonymous the other day. Pardon me if I don’t jump for joy. After succumbing to the lies for almost 12 years together, how can I possibly discern the truth now?" Seriously rough times.
Heartseverywhere has a Pregnancy Scare."Today is Friday and your period was due on Monday. Here you are again – a pregnancy scare, guaranteed to be a sobering moment for any couple in love. Dating sure is hard in the grown up world." Been there. Sadly, I can't quite remember when though...
Laura Young is Working with Guilt, Avoidance and Shame. "For many years I felt so deeply guilty about this and such a sense of shame that I never shared this story. That I was a kid was little consolation to me." I have a story like this; I wonder if we all do. Life lessons so often have a price.
UnderCoverMother has a Unhappy Anniversary. "I tried to be romantic about it. I even found the "something blue" from our wedding and wore them today." I find myself hoping their next one is so much better. Somebody in Connecticut share babysitting with this woman!
Paulalattimer learns Curiousity + Cat = Heartbreak. "There he was. He actually had a MySpace. Nervously, I clicked on his profile and watched it download." Sometimes what you see online can help you to let go.
