A Child’s Adjustment to Yet Another Relocation

IsaiahSince the day Isaiah was born in 2005 he has moved six times and had five  addresses
(we’ve lived twice at grandmas). This is a result of mommy just
trying to make a living and following the work. In August of 2005, my shinny new baby boy was welcomed at grandma’s house where she nurtured and took care of him while I worked for a whole year. At the
time I was extremely underemployed at a small insurance company
which I commuted an hour to and from each day. Thankfully Hewlett
Packard offered me a job in the Bay Area if I would just move. This was
a great opportunity since it was in my previous area of expertise,
IT, and it would bring me back up to a comfortable salary range.
However, it required a move. My son would have to leave his other
parent — Grandma — and go to someplace unfamiliar with strangers.
