Childbirth, Through the Eyes of a Nine Year Old
By Frogs and a Princess on November 14, 2012
I made the huge mistake of streaking down the stairs last week with nothing but my pants and bra on to grab a shirt out of the laundry room. About the time I rounded the corner into the kitchen I see both boys sitting at the bar eating their breakfast. The conversation then followed about like this:
Evan: "Mom! Your belly button is gone! What's wrong with it?!"
To which Jayden promptly interrupts with: "Evan, don't you know? The belly button pops out and out and out until the baby is ready. Then it will pop open so the baby can come out!"
Yep. That sounds like a perfectly good explanation to me.
And there you have the birthing process through the eyes of a nine year old. Hey, who am I to argue? :-)
