Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Power Bites

My chocolate cravings have kicked up since srtarting this clean eating plan. I needed something quick, but still sticking with whole foods.This recipe is adapted from My whole Food Life. I changed it up a bit; the orginal recipe is here


  • 2 c. gluten free rolled oats, I use Bobs Red Mill organic oats
  • 1/3 c. almond/pecan butter (recipe below)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tblspn. Organic no sugar added apple sauce
  • 1 tspn. Vanilla
  • 3 tblspn. Pure maple syrup
  • 2 tblspn. Almond milk
  • 1/4 c. mini chocolate chips
  • 1 scoop Protein powder, I use Aria, organic, non-gmo womens protein
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Spray cooking sheet with non-stick spray or use a liner
  3. Mix all wet ingredients in one bowl
  4. Mix all dry ingredients in another
  5. Add wet to dry and mix well
  6. Roll into balls, and place on sheet (this is sticky, I suggest using a baller)
  7. Bake for 12 minutes
Bite size quick pick me up!
For Amond/Pecan Butter: 
  • 1/2 c. almonds
  • 1/2 c. pecans
  • 1 tspn. Honey, local organic
You can also use 1 c. of almonds OR pecans if you prefer. I wanted a multi-nut butter and these were the two I had one hand, and it turned out fantastic!

  1. Place nuts in food processor
  2. As you start blending, you will see the nuts break down into crumbs quickly, but you will wat to keep blending until it gets moist and resembles a butter
  3. Stop every 2 or so minutes and push down what gets stuck on the sides
  4. This process can take 10-20 minutes
