Chocolate Sparklers: Rich Cookies That Stand Out

Cookies are easy to bake and to be loved by everybody. I crave homemade cookies time to time, or rather often.

These chocolate sparkler cookies can be eaten within an hour from the moment you take out the flour and cocoa powder on the kitchen counter top. This is the recipe I adapted from Mayan chocolate sparkler recipe of Robinhood flour, but twisted to suit my taste only because I don't appreciate spicy taste mixed in sweet cookies.

Oh, another thing. I swapped shortening with butter. I think my modified recipe is better than the original one. :)

These are cookies with nice earthquake cracks.

A dishful of chocolatey goodness.

This recipe is for all of you who love rich chocolate taste and all of you who are craving homemade cookies.

Whoa! I forgot to comment on this. Copied the recipe down with such a passionate look to my cookie future, that I forgot to comment. Oops! Here I am. Thank you for sharing this great recipe. I am trying to decide whether to go "Mayan" or not and add the cayenne...sounds interesting and I have seen chocolate bars with cayenne at the store...It must be good to have such a following. We'll see...Fondly, Robin

SunbonnetSmart.com Thanks for coming back to leave comment! This recipe is actually very easy to follow! Hope you enjoy these cookies! I made Mayan too. It's also very good! But, my kids preferred my simpler version.:)

I do like chocolate, but only super dark bitter ones. I love richness of coco flavour when it melts on my palate:)

Rich chocolate cookies also give me similar sensation :)

Everything's better with butter. And homemade cookies fresh out of the oven are unbeatable!

HomeRearedChef Hi Virginia, I agree. I love butter. As Julia (Child) said, "with enough butter, anything is good!" :)
