I love a lot of the Christmas songs. Ones that just celebrate the joy of being alive. Corny, traditional, reliable. But as I started to hum, "IT'S STARTING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMASS", I began to sing, "It's starting to feel a lot like....year-end"
Does the noise in our heads never cease? Truth be told, if my brain's not in overdrive, I'm sure I'm experiencing heart palpitations or that the world has temporarily stopped spinning. Running fast, hard, forward, breathlessly - is my personal drug of choice.
So in honour of that noise that keeps the eyes bright, the heart pumping and the brain in full gear, it's good to reflect and plan ahead.
I start slow....very, very slow...
1. What makes....[my name here] happy - not your kids, not your husband, not the boss, you! Ouch, that's a tough one. Skipped it last year - [yikes...it's hard to get back to]
Followed swiftly by,
2. Your happiness matters..what are you willing to do about it?
Double ouch. How can you do when you're not even sure?
3. Finally, seriously, what is it that makes you laugh, cry, sing, dance, hug?
If it, the key to happiness, walked by you, if it was on the cover of a book, in a chance comment, in the voice of someone you care about - would you hear it?
Let's listen together. Girlphyte
