A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We had to spell that out for you, because our participation in the Coca Cola Balanced Living Workshop was nothing short of amazing. On December 11th and 12th we had the honor of joining twenty Chicago bloggers and a host of BlogHer and Coca-Cola team members for a health and fitness workshop. My Time at Coca-Cola's Balanced Living Workshop

Last week, I had the pleasure of attended Coca-Cola's Balanced Living Workshop in Chicago. The workshop took place over a period of roughly two days. I took the train to Union Station and headed over to the Congress hotel by cab.  I arrived around 9:30 am and introduced myself to a few bloggers over breakfast. We then moved to a conference room where we listened to a few presentations regarding, health, nutrition and the role Coca-Cola is trying to play in both. I was surprised to learn that Dasani water and Smart Water were both brands under Coca-Cola. ...more

Diet Soda's Are Safe For Kids: Challenging Conventional Wisdom at the Coca-Cola Balanced Living Workshop

It doesn't take a marketing background to understand that an event called the "Coca-Cola Balanced Living Workshop" might be designed to publicize the company's healthy living efforts and counteract the backlash against super-sized sugary sodas. But while I do try to limit my and my family's consumption of full-calorie sodas, I'm no purist. I like Coke Zero, Cherry Coke (Zero and the regular stuff) and Honest Tea, and I've been known to let my kids enjoy the occasional Sprite or Sprite Zero when we're out to eat....more

Last week I participated in the Coca Cola Balanced Living Workshop.  At the two-day event I learned how valuable it is to take a break from everyday life in a positive and healthy environment.  I knew I would enjoy meeting other Chicago mom bloggers and the luxury of my own hotel room, but I did not expect to go home with the tools to create a more balanced family life....more

At such times, it's important to remember that there are people out there willing and able to help us out. My reality is that I am so busy I really can't get anything done well. I'm getting tasks done, but not well enough; just good enough and that's no longer acceptable....more

Coca-Cola Balanced Living Workshop Review

Last week I spent two days downtown Chicago at the Coca Cola Balanced Living Workshop. What a wonderful two days. Where do I start...? The workshop was focused around healthy living and balance. A moto I try to live by in all facets of my life and with food especially. Balance is key. There is no need to diet or give up the foods you love as long as you do it in moderation and have a balance with a variety of foods. Being more conscious of what we put into our bodies and how we treat our bodies with exercise is important for us and for our family....more

Learned to Kick Off that Totem Pole at the #CCBalancedLiving Event

Pre-family I was a svelte size 8 actively working in the fashion industry. I worked hard, loved life and embraced everything with vigor. Dancing, swimming, workouts, eating well, were just simply life. I also grew up with parents who served lots of vegetables and fish during meals and has a father who ran a couple of miles every single morning and sometimes even tagged us along. My now 71 year old father up to this day still wakes up every 5am in the morning to do Tai-Chi. Because we lived and breathed it, the word “Nutrition” was never a topic I ever dealt with....more
