Conference Corner: The Sponsored Track at BlogHer '13
Over the past few weeks, we've been walking you through each of the tracks at BlogHer '13 in Chicago. Today, we're ready to unveil our final track of programming -- the Sponsored track.
We are so excited to offer you seven different breakout sessions which cover topics from blog comments to family dynamics, and everything in between. Speakers include journalists like Lisa Belkin from the HuffPo and Jen Weigel from the Chicago Tribune, the EVP of the Dallas Cowboys, television personalities and writers, representatives from the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), and many more. You'll leave each of the sessions on the sponsored track informed, educated, inspired, and connected!
On Friday morning, we'll be talking about healthy habits and football! Our first breakout from 10:30-12:00 includes:
An inspiring and educational conversation with Dr Travis Stork from The Doctors and a group of bloggers who all are leading the online charge to healthier habits and better lives, courtesy of Simply Saline
Female sports fans, writers, and parents, including Dallas Cowboys EVP Charlotte Jones Anderson. They'll be discussing the multi-dimensional issues of the modern female football fan and mom, courtesy of the NFL.
After lunch, the Sponsored track continues with conversations about work-life balance and the 21st century family. The afternoon breakout from 2:30-4:00 includes:
Women at all stages of their career journey, sharing their honest (and often-times funny) stories about juggling work & family, success & happiness. Courtnee Westendorf joins a panel of bloggers who are all climbing both corporate ladders and jungle gyms, courtesy of Intel.
An eye-opening look at the new norms for the 21st century family. Bloggers representing a diverse slice of family life in America today join writers and research directors from the hit tv show Modern Family to share the latest research on what the modern family really looks like, and to discuss how we write the stories of these families, and why it matters that we are -- courtesy of Modern Family + USA Network.
Saturday, our first breakout from 10:30-12:00 includes:
Tips and tricks for parents to lead the charge in promoting healthy physical activity and boosted brain power for our children in schools and beyond. Parent activist and BOKS co-founder Kathleen Tullie joins Dr John Ratey to share ways you can get involved and get kids active, courtesy of BOKS (Build Our Kids’ Success).
Learn Best Practices for blog ad placements & self-promotion, and get hands-on help with setting your blog ads up for success in the face of rapidly-evolving industry standards (including viewability guidelines), reader expections and brand expectations. The IAB and the BlogHer Team collaborate to help you learn how to enhance your blog's monetization potential, and discover how to enhance your own marketability in this three-part session, courtesy of IAB and BlogHer U.
Just like the end of a great blog post, our sponsored track ends with a discussion about the value of comments, and the tools available to turn your comments section into a community. The closing breakout from 2:30-4:00 welcomes:
Disqus, along with bloggers who are building community through comments and conversation, who will share their tips and tricks for better, more engaging, comments and communities with you. Learn how to monetize and socialize your comment section, and expand your blog's impact and reach, courtesy of Disqus.
We are so excited to welcome each of these program sponsors to the event this year, alongside all of the sponsors who will join us in the expo hall and for other activations throughout the event. Visit the BlogHer '13 Sponsors page to discover all the brands who have helped make BlogHer '13 possible, and then check them all out on Twitter, too!
