Conference Corner: A Word about Expo Hall Demos

BlogHer Original Post

If you’ve taken a look at the BlogHer ’11 agenda lately, you’re probably aware by now that BlogHer offers something for everyone. There’s a ton of diverse programming at BlogHer events -- we’re offering EIGHT tracks, plus Birds of a Feather meet-ups.

It’s a lot of information to take in, and we understand that sometimes it’s nice just to take a break, whether that means recharging in the Serenity Suite, meeting new and old friends in the conference hallways, or wandering the Expo Hall. And the Expo is what I want to talk to you about today.

At first glance, the Expo (located on the Ground Level of the San Diego Convention Center) can seem a little overwhelming. But fear not! Because if BlogHer is anything, it is organized. And the Expo floor is no different. We’ve created a handy chart for you, mapping out the floor with booth numbers, and the corresponding sponsors, which you can find in the conference mobile app or in the on-site printed guide.

You see that section above that is highlighted in red? It’s part of the Expo, and it is called the Demo Zone. There will be a lot of fun activity there throughout the conference. BlogHer is featuring mini-programming in the Demo Zone, in 20-minute bite-sized chunks. We’ll have bloggers interviewing bloggers about topics nearest and dearest to bloggers’ hearts, like:

  • How to get video-ready in ten minutes
  • A cooking demonstration for creating quick, delicious, healthy on-the-go lunches
  • A new community for supporting and developing aspiring authors of genre fiction
  • How to achieve balance between your online and offline lives
  • Tips for bringing happiness and contentment into your life, regardless of your circumstances
  • How to get the most out of Google+

Here’s a schedule of the demos, and their full descriptions –- we hope you’ll love the programming as much as we’ve loved creating it for you!
