The Blog Remains the Same: Things We're Still Concerned With 10 Years Later

I had the immense good fortune to have attended the very first BlogHer Conference in 2005. I was in my second year of my current blog, by then and I loved the idea of a bunch of women bloggers getting together to discuss the craft. Where Were You 10 Years Ago?

As we look back over the past decade we find ourselves talking, so often, about who we WERE in 2004, and how we became who we ARE. I've found our team's stories funny and inspiring, with so many "Whoa, I didn't know that!" moments that I wanted to share them with you … and we want to hear your stories, too! ...more

Don't Tell Me They're Not Real: Internet Friends Are Real Life Friends

Don't tell me they're not real. I left a comment on the most random blog post I had ever come across in my many times clicking the "Random" button on LiveJournal. The blogger replied. I replied. Then the blogger's friend replied. I looked at his avatar, this friend of the original blogger, and my eyebrow raised a little bit. The back and forth conversation went on all evening, one comment after the other. Days later, AOL Instant Messenger names were exchanged. Three years later, we stood in front of our friends and family and exchanged vows. ...more

Keynote Update: Talking about the Future of the Social Web at BlogHer '14

Two months ago, I announced that Arianna Huffington was returning to keynote BlogHer for the first time since both BlogHer and the Huffington Post were baby sites of one-year-old in 2006. With Arianna, we know we'll hear a thoughtful vision that considers how to stay happy when hyper-connected. ...more
