ThtThe Ribbons of Life (ROL) Breast Cancer Foundation is an organization committed to providing breast cancer education, advocacy, emotional, and social support within Ventura County.
Hello, my name is Lori Stephens; I am the fund raising chair for the Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Foundation. I have the honor of working with a wonderful and inspiring group of women, all volunteers and breast cancer survivors.
Ventura County does not have a breast cancer resource center to assist thousands of people who struggle locally with the impact and implications of a breast cancer diagnosis. As a result, those living in Ventura County find the need to drive throughout or outside the county for information. This results in additional and unnecessary physical, emotional, and social strains on a person who is newly diagnosed. Based on this knowledge the Ribbons of Life needs to raise funds to build a breast cancer resource center in Ventura County.
I am working on a healthy recipe cookbook as a fund raising project to help build this resource center. Your donations of original, healthy recipes are needed for this cookbook. I am also looking for recipes that might be helpful for those going through chemotherapy.
All recipe donations can be submitted to Lori.Stephens@RibbonsVentura.org or directly to the Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Foundation at ROL@RibbonsVentura.org Want credit for your recipe? Just send your original recipe and let me know if I can identify you as the donor. Thank you very much for your support in this cause.

Our "Come as You Are" Breakfasts, also known as "Breast Fests", are monthly Saturday gatherings created to have friends, spouses and children get together for an enjoyable breakfast that serves up heaps of casual conversation, kind words, laughter, along with plenty of listening ears. People with breast cancer who attend may be newly diagnosed, living with breast cancer, continuing their treatment, or are those survivors who want to keep up-to-date with the latest treatments or coping techniques that address breast cancer as well as help others through wisdom gained from their experiences. All who attend provide support over breakfast and a few cups of coffee. This is considered our "pick-me-up-event" where many leave feeling rejuvenated, motivated, and loved so they can move forward into the next month. Held on the second Saturday of every month at 8:30 am, at the Hill Street Café, 1050 South Hill Road, Ventura, Ca. 93003 For more information please visit our website at www.RibbonsVentura.org or write to ROL at P.O. Box 7733 Ventura, CA 93006
