Our government is riddled with corruption! I have been railing against the bills that are beening pushed through Congress before anyone has time to read them. I will continue to do so, but the real problem, the underlying problem is why this is happening! Don't you have to stop and wonder why these massive bills are so massive? And why there is such a hurry to get them passed? First I was just thinking why the hurry, but the more I pondered on this question the more I wondered "WHY THE HURRY?" Is it really because it is so imperative? Does it really have to be passed right now, even if it doesn't go into effect for several years?
I listened to the President's address to Congress the other night, and he said something to this effect - "the healthcare bill won't take effect until 2013, so we can get it right". So why not take the time and first get the bill right?
The more I see and hear the more I believe it is the special interests. It is the people in our government pandering to the special interests. It is all about power, it is all about getting re-elected. It is all about where the money is coming from and going to. Who is benefiting from these bills? We need to look at that question with each and every bill that goes through Congress.
The President has proposed that we can pay for his healthcare bill by cutting the waste and fraud from Medicare. If there is that much waste and fraud in the current system why isn't that problem being addressed now? Why is that being tolerated? And if there is that much waste and fraud in just one of the government programs how much is there in all of them? We need to STOP, step back, fix what we have now, and then move on. We can't afford to make the government bigger, with more places to hide waste, fraud and corruption. We need to stop funding special interests, and pandering to the lobbyists. Our government was not created in a way to insure lawmakers would have a way to get their next election campaign funded.
Hold your elected representative accountable! Watch who they are serving - is it the American people, or is it special interests, with big money? Our government is corrupt, and when our representatives start telling us they know what is best for us, better than we know ourselves, when they think we don't need to read the bill to see what is REALLY in it, it is time to vote them out!!!
