I feel like I should be doing much more writing than this...all of a sudden life has happened and things are being cast aside. Things like time to write and laundry.
Travel wise I/we have been all over the place lately. There was a three day break up to the highlands, Inverness/Nairn/other places I can't pronounce. We saw the Falls of Shin...which weren't very...fall-ie...but still pretty. I think living in the Rocky Mountains for *insert FAR TOO LONG* kind of skewed my perception of waterfalls. And mountains. And things that claim to be big but really aren't because OMG have you seen the size of the Rocky Mountains??? It was a nice little break and the hotel was lovely....mostly thanks to an upgrade by the Landlordofwin. He makes magical phone calls that persuade hotels to do things like give you pretty rooms and chocolate. He is the property of Monkey and you cannot have him. Seriously.
I saw the ocean again...but due to the freezing cold coldness I didn't actually get near the ocean. Whatever, I saw and heard it. That was enough.
Then? Down to London for a week for work. Which sounds glamorous and happy and all kinds of cool until you remember the work part. I had exactly twenty seven thousand meetings. Exactly. Monkey and I had nights to go wander the streets though which was cool. Not the same as our summer trip mind you. Because this one was not warm. Or in the daytime...which makes quite a difference to the enjoyment levels.
I did get to wander the National Geographic store which warmed the cockles of my geeky little heart.
And I was in Ronnie Scotts which is apparently some really famous Jazz Club. They had good chicken.
