Credentials...we can spend our life pursuing them and yet never feel "good enough". In fact one reason entreprneurs can sometimes hold themselves back is because they don't think they are expert enough (yet) to offer their services. While I certainly value mastery that comes with time and formal training, we must embrace where we are right now even as we are growing into more. That's why I loved this post on the ever popular and often controversial topic of whether credentialing is necessary for success.
I recently received an e-mail from one of my clients, a piano teacher, who asked my opinion on the value of certifications. She was prompted to ask the question because she was feeling a bit uneasy about her lack of specialized credentials.
Her insecurities surfaced after reading some mean-spirited comments posted by other piano teachers on her LinkedIn group.
