How did this happen?

I don't know when it started to happen, but about a month ago I was feeling upset and tired, mixture of things really. I blurted out to my husband that i was fed up of always being at the bottom of the pecking order. I know what prompted it at the time, but me actually saying that was a bolt from the blue, I am not that kind of person. what happened is that i was getting our toddler off to sleep and he came into the bedroom....more

"The Mother and Child Reunion is only a motion away..."

It’s H1N1 season and many (but not all) hospitals across the US have changed their visitation policies so that children (under the age of anywhere from 12 – 18 years of age) are no longer able to visit hospitalized family or friends.  For mothers expecting the birth of their second child – and especially those that are looking ahead to a second cesarean birth and a 4-day stay  (a growing category) – the thought of a long separation and a concern for their older child’s feelings is making these mothers truly sad and quite anxious.  And who better to reach out to in times of distress?  Other mothers.  Who have “been there”, “learned that”.  ...more

It is January 10th, 2010, do you know where your period is?

Oh, Faith. Are you really sitting here, thinking about writing this out? Yes, yes I am. Do I talk to myself like this frequently? Oh, sadly, yes. Nice first post there, oh, and further lame it up by mentioning it's your first post. I'm talking to myself, and it appears I am new to the internet. Sweet!I wonder how many can relate. It is approximately one day before the expected arrival of my period. I'm trying to conceive, or what they abbreviate on the ol' internet as TTC. I always thought that TTC sounded too much like it could be a fighting move....more

Mom and Baby Die and Come Back to Life -- Because of an Epidural?

In what's being called a Christmas "miracle," a mother suffered cardiac arrest and died while in labor on Christmas eve 2009, her lifeless baby was born after an emergency cesarean section, and then "inexplicably, astonishingly" both suddenly came back to life. At least, that is the picture that was first painted by ABC News. ...more

Kegel 2.0 Part 2- Teamwork

In Kegel 2.0 Part 1, we worked on increasing awareness of the portion of the pelvic floor that helps stop leaks by using a positional cue, shifting at the ankles as if you were going off a ski jump. Ahh... the holidays are upon us... Images of sugar plums dancing in our heads while dreaming if Santa Claus will be providing us with treats (or a big fat lump of coal) under our Christmas trees.
