My afternoon consisted of a speculum, a catheter and a Spanish/Italian doctor with a French accent. Jealous yet? It's not every day you get to see the inner workings of your uterus. Besides the fact that I broke out into a cold sweat just remembering this procedure seven years ago it went fairly well.Today was another reminder why it's taken this long to jump back on the fertility-treatment-bandwagon. So far this month I have had one consultation, four panels of blood work, three vaginal (yes, I said vagina) ultrasounds, an annual exam and an HSG....more
I have been a bit peeved with Woman's Day ever since I subscribed a few months ago. The magazine is marketed as being "written and edited for every woman to live well every day." Scanning through the pages, you'll find a variety of recipes, organizational tips, and inspirational stories. There is only one thing that I don't like about Woman's Day magazine. Scratch that. There's one thing that I can't stand. It's at the beginning of every issue, casually placed in its own little 1/8 of the page....more
A miraculous thing has happened in my life recently, something so beautiful that it must be shared.I have learnt to live life with real joy. Joy is not the same as happiness, which is situational. Rather, joy is an attitude, a spirit of thanksgiving & peace & contentment, as well as the knowledge that God is in control & that I'm resting in Him....more
Hey, all! I joined BlogHer a while back, but I have yet to do much with my account. Today's as good as any, & so I decided to have a good look around to try & figure out what I want to do with my account here. I already have 3 blogs, & so another one here seems a bit redundant. All kinds of weird computer problems kept cropping up, and I kept offering them up as a prayer, which did help to keep me from being annoyed. Then...
This morning I got an email from a friend who told me that today is OUR LADY OF LOURDES FEAST DAY! Wow. I had no idea! That is just so cool...

While I was brewing some green tea the other day, I realized that it was my grandmother who tried to teach me patience with a cup of the stuff. I am a person who always wants things yesterday, which partly explains why it took me so long to understand my grandmother's lesson. Perhaps a cup of tea each day will bring greater revelation, drop by drop....more
It is 2010 and so many women, young and older, are still finding themselves single and waiting. After just one sentence, I can already feel the judgment coming from many readers who will begin to smugly chuckle at this idea that women still want to get married, have children and spend a life together with their husbands. And my response? Yup! There are many women who believe in the goodness of God and His plan for us all, including marriage and family.
