Comparing a car accident to

Comparing a car accident to murdering a baby, err fetus as the left considers it, is quite a difference.

Well... they may be facts,

Well... they may be facts, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Pro-Lifers used those facts to be a teeny bit manipulative. I'm sure some women have suffered traumatic stress after abortion, but some women have probably suffered traumatic stress after LOTS of stuff... like car accidents. Should we make driving illegal? Heh. I wonder if they've done any research on the percentage of women who didn't have access to safe/legal abortion and suffered traumatic stress from that. ;)

There is evidence though,

There is evidence though, that SOME women who have had abortions do suffer traumatic stress after the abortion. The "pro-lifers" are not trying to be manipulative. They are trying to get the facts out.

What the anti-choice folk are trying now

Do any of you read the Sunday New York Times? The cover article was about some pro-life organizers who are trying - despite slews of scientific evidence - to reframe abortion as traumatic for women. Instead of trying to change laws that would make women's lives easier, they're really trying to roll back more por-choice laws by saying abortion gives women post-traumatic stress syndrome, leads to drug use and depression etc.

It all makes me feel...used.

Wade, the landmark judicial opinion concerning abortion. It's also Blog for Choice Day, a blog activism event for pro-choice bloggers. I'll be compiling highlights and posting them here at BlogHer or at Sour Duck later today or tomorrow.

If you've only just heard of Blog for Choice Day, it's not too late for you to participate! Just sign up at Bush v. Choice. Then write and publish at your blog today a post describing why you're pro-choice.

Kudos to Jessica Valenti (Feministing.com) for organizing this pro-choice blog activism day on behalf of Bush v. Choice.
