Howdy You'll,

I'm retired, I ain't sellin' nothin', I'm not running for office and, mostly, I think that humanity deserves what's coming anyway..justice for a novelty.

100,000,000 gallons of gasoline burned every day all over the planet on lawns!

Kind of silly isn't it? But never mind that.

http://virtualguidebooks.com/NewMexico/PuebloCountry/Aztec/AztecGreatKiv...

Industry and auto emissions are not even half the problem.

It's our body temperature..maintaining it. Cows stand out there in the snow with no pants on.

And then of course there's that little polluter called war..but never mind that either.

Anasazi, Vikings, prehistoric Japanese etc......... long before central heat and air, our ancestors understood the value of the ground temperature that is constant 6 to 8 feet below the surface. No thermostats on their walls.

Our ancient ancestors understood it...they lived in caves. But of course we are so much smarter than those brutes that managed to survive a few hundred thousand years without all the crap that we have created to cause the problem.

This is called the Information Age...balony. This computer you're looking at is just landfill junk without electricity. This is the Age of Energy and it's what everything, good, bad or indifferent is all about...Iraq?....what.fuel oil for North Korea what?....oh never mind.

More than 50% of all the energy we produce is used (and misused) to heat and cool buildings, it isn't necessary and until that is STOPPED; Global Warming will not be reversed...it will get worse.

Google it.

Here are a few sites I quickly picked at random. I didn't bother to read them. They are just to make the point that the information is out there abundantly and has been for a long time before it suddenly got trendy to be Green...whoopty poot.

Underground, and or, Partially Underground Houses, Cooling Tubes

http://www.eere.energy.gov/consumer/your_home/space_heating_cooling/inde...

Double Envelop,

http://www.osti.gov/energycitations/product.biblio.jsp?osti_id=5488877,

Anasazi Kivas,

http://virtualguidebooks.com/NewMexico/PuebloCountry/Aztec/AztecGreatKiv...

http://sannaimaruyama.pref.aomori.jp/english/image/english-pamph.pdf

etc. There is a house in Austin Texas that belonged to the French ambassador when Texas was a republic...it is heated and cooled by the basement.

It is possible to build skyscrapers that are heated and cooled passively from the ground and until you make architects and engineers stop designing and building the energy gobbling atrocities they have been building for the past 200 years, Global Warming will continue to increase.

This will be justice because my greedy, irresponsible, asshole species deserves whatever happens to it.

I am old now and so disgusted with my species that most of me says to hell with it, I hope to see New York City underwater (then they'll listen, ha, ha, too late) before I die and why bother.

40 years ago I was passionate about it but only a few weirdo nuts like me ever paid any attention. Some little part of me still says, even if it's hopeless, ignoring it when I know what to do about it is stupid. Not because it will matter. A lot of you reading this right now are going to dispute every word of it.......and you can go sit on the pot where you belong.

Sealing the cracks, double paneing the windows, recycling beer cans and adding insulation is nice..........and nothing.

If you'll don't stop building all this inefficient crap, there will be no Starship Enterprise.

But not to worry. Mama Earth's Magnetic Fields are disappearing anyway. They block the Solar Winds and if Solar Winds are not blocked, not only will Mama be a big microwave oven (absolutely nothing survives) but she don't care what happens to us anyway.

Jo's GreenTech pointed out

Jo's GreenTech pointed out that Branson's move might seem strange, coming from the mogul of an industry that creates such much green house gas with its plane exhaust. But I tend to think of it as the ultimate "carbon credit." If your carbon footprint is too large, you are urged by the eco-conscious to compensate for it by buying carbon credits to offset your own carbon use. If this prize brings up any good carbon-eating ideas it will be the ultimate carbon offset for Branson and for the planet.

Climate change is top of mind of late to say the least. Here are some writers addressing the topic.

Read about the Live Earth concert presented by Save Our Selves (SOS) – The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis at green LA girl.

Ellee Seymour is going to a debate on climate change tomorrow, 16 February and wants to know what questions she should ask the speakers.

Jo's GreenTech posts about Richard Branson's Virgin Earth Challenge.
