Fat Noodles

Terry, my mom made homemade chicken and noodles, which we always called "Fat Noodles" since they were thicker than dried noodles. They were the best! Pretty much all my brothers and sisters still make them once in a while.

Tery Spataro

I love it. This is great. My favorite noodles are rice noodles.

My family use to make our own pasta. I remember those days being very long. There is something special about the taste of home made pasta.

Thanks Kelly, what a fun idea to celebrate this with kids. After all, don't all kids love noodles?

oodles and oodles of

Noodles! That was the big bad yearning when first going gluten-free years ago. Tinkyada was hard to find back then. Lucky for those of us gluten-intolerant folks, Tinkyada brown rice noodles are cropping up everywhere. Yayness.

Thanks for the shout-out. And Dear Readers, if you post a gluten-free noodle recipe this month, please swing by and share it with our [Gluten Free] Goddess readers.

Thanks!

k a r i n a
Celebrate National Noodle Month!

Ravioli photo by Helen of Beyond Salmon.

Did you hear that March is National Noodle Month? What better time to learn to make your own pasta, and here are some cooks who can show you how it's done:

First, Helen of Beyond Salmon posts How to Make Pasta Dough, with great photos and recipes like the ravioli dish pictured.

Haalo from Cook (almost) Anything At Least Once also has an impressive Pasta Pictorial, complete with her amazing photos. The focus is on homemade ravioli.

If you still feel insecure in your pasta-making knowledge, Scrumptious Street has great instructions (and more photos!) of how to make Fresh Fettucine.

Finally, thanks for the tip-off about National Noodle Month from Gluten-Free Goddess, who's announcing an event for Gluten-Free Pasta Dishes.

Contributing Editor Kalyn Denny also blogs at Kalyn's Kitchen, where she mostly uses Dreamfields pasta to make things like Penne with White Bean and Tomato Sauce.
