Yahoo Apologizes to Food Blogger

In a fairly unprecedented move, Yahoo India today issued a public apology to Surya Gayathri whose recipes were used without credit or permission by a content provider who posted them on Yahoo India.

Yahoo had removed the recipes after the blogger alerted them that they had been used with out proper attribution, but initially refusted to apologize. After many influential Indian Food bloggers participated in an online protest against Yahoo earlier this week, the company apologized today. (At that link there's a list of over 150 Indian food blogs who participated in the protest, an incredible show of support for Surya Gayathri.)

There's a great list of links to related posts and articles about this incident at this blog started by Inji Pennu who organized the protest.

(Thanks to Mahanandi and One Hot Stove, where I first read about this.)
