FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Parenting Bloggers participate in exclusive set visit and press conference at "The new Adventures of Old Christine"

Live Interview Webcast with Emmy Award-winner Julia Louis Dreyfus and Series Creator Kari Lizer to Take Place Exclusively on BlogHer.org
on Monday, March 19

As CBS gears up for the return of the comedy series THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE to the primetime television line-up, the Network is using non-traditional methods to reach out to audiences they know will instantly relate and respond to the show – moms and dads who write about their hilarious parenting experiences on the Internet. Top parenting bloggers from across the country were given the opportunity to visit the set and interview the cast of the show, which returns to the CBS primetime schedule on Monday, March 12. That night will feature a double-header of new episodes, from 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT. The following week, Monday, March 19, the series will move into its regular new time slot, 8:30 PM, ET/PT.

On Monday, March 19, Emmy award-winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus and series creator and executive producer Kari Lizer, will participate in an exclusive virtual press conference with BlogHer.org, a website with over 8000 registered members that has become a prime online destination for people to find and read today’s most talented female writers. The 30-minute live interview webcast, with questions provided exclusively by BlogHer members, will be conducted by the site’s co-founder Lisa Stone, an award-winning journalist.

"This is the first time a major television network has hosted a live webcast and marketing promotion across a blogging network," said Jory Des Jardins, BlogHer Co-founder and its President of Business Development & Alliances, "We’re proud to be part of the innovative approach CBS is taking to reach the most influential people online: women bloggers and their readers."

The link to the live webcast can be accessed by BlogHer members through their website, or can be viewed by the general public on CBS.com at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT - immediately following the east coast broadcast of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE Following the live feed, the webcast will also be available for download on CBS.com.

The parenting bloggers, who visited the set in late February have each managed to create a loyal online following, reaching thousands of like-minded women and men dealing with issues relating to parenting, motherhood, the work/life balance and relationships. Participants in the press conference included: Amy Keroes and Dawn Dobras, founders of the popular working mother website Mommy Track’d, Erin Kane and Kristin Brandt, who created the website and podcast Manic Mommies – which features a weekly podcast available for download on Itunes and Yahoo; Melinda Roberts, better known as The Mommy Blog and author of Mommy Confidential, Liz Gumbinner, who is an advertising agency executive by day and pens the wildly successful blogs Cool Mom Picks and Mom101; Sara Fisher, a part-time public relations executive and author of the blog, The Self Made Mom; Tim Clark, who is better known as L.A. Daddy; as well as four contributors from BlogHer.org including the authors of the blogs: Elaine from Wannabehippie, Lorien Silverleaf from The Soccer Mom Vote, Y from Joy Unexpected; and Liz Rizzo from Everyday Goddess.

During their visit to the set, the participants were given the chance to ask the cast questions about the series as well as their personal lives. Their experiences on set and at an afternoon coffee klatch were photographed and filmed. Portions of their visit will be made available on their respective blogs, podcasts and websites. For many of these bloggers, this was the first time they had the chance to meet in person, despite frequently corresponding with one another on the worldwide web.
