I'm brand new, and thats not an April Fools Joke!!" en http://www.blogher.com/node/17562 <p>Hi.</p> <p>For those of you interested in Internet Safety, I'm glad I signed up.</p> <p>For the past two years, I've spear-headed Internet Safety education and awareness not only in my elementary school where I created and implmented a unique Internet Safety curriculum for 250 2nd and 3rd graders, but in my entire district as well.</p> <p>I am the Regional Office of Education #26 Internet Safety Coordinator, a position that was created for me. Although online safety is my job, it is my passion and has been for several years.</p> <p>I also write a regular newspaper column about these issues, am a mother of two ornery teenagers(and have 3 cats and a dog, although they dont go online--YET)..<br /> I am Chairperson of a committee I assembled to brainstorm said issues. I also work with over 500 children every week in a computer lab environment, so its no wonder I'm tired!!</p> <p>I have a very unique perspective based on the above, when it comes to Internet Safety education and awareness, which most people dont have and I will hopefully be able to share experiences, and enlighten those who will listen.</p> <p>As I always have to have a big project to work on, I've put together a Internet Safety resource blog for educators and parents.</p> <p>If you have a free moment, which I know is rare, please take a moment to stop by and say hi.
