These all look so good! I'm rather late joining the party, but I posted about my first attempt at my mother-in-law's hot cross buns.

Hot Cross Buns for Good Friday

[img_assist|fid=3564|thumb=1|alt=Hot Cross Buns]
Photo of Hot Cross Buns by Haalo of Cook (almost) Anything At Least Once.

Easter is coming, but you still have plenty of time to make Hot Cross Buns, traditionally eaten on Good Friday, with the cross on top symbolizing Christ dying on the cross. But whether or not you make them for the religious significance, Hot Cross Buns are a delicious symbol of Easter.

The Hot Cross Buns in my photo were made last Easter, and showcased in a post with amazing step-by-step photos of how to make Hot Cross Buns, by Haalo of Cook (almost) Anything At Least Once.

Another great post on How To Make Hot Cross Buns was found at Becks and Posh.

At Kitchen Parade, Alanna and her sister both remember their mother each year when they make Hot Cross Buns.

A slightly different take on the tradition is the Vanilla Scented Hot Cross Bun Pudding from Kitchen Delights.

Stripey Pebble made a second batch of Hot Cross Buns to perfect the recipe.

Finally, some equal opportunity baking: Two of the best looking Hot Cross Buns recipes I saw were from Bloghims, Andrew's Hot Cross Buns at Spittoon Extra and the Seriously Good Hot Cross Buns from Kevin at Seriously Good.

(Thanks to Joanna from The Passionate Cook who sponsored
There's Something In My Easter Basket, where I found some of these recipes, plus more good recipes for Easter which I'll share in another post.)

Food Editor Kalyn Denny cooks a lot and blogs about it at Kalyn's Kitchen, but she's never made Hot Cross Buns (so far).
