Laura: nope, although we might do a survey

Hi Laura:

Good question. No, we won't have people register for specific sessions, although we might take a page out of SXSW's book and do an attendee survey to gauge interest and get an idea of which rooms to put which sessions in.

Registration for Sessions

Hey just a question - once we've registered for the conference, is it also necessary to register for individual sessions or will that be a first-come first-served free for all? Just curious.

Ah, perfect! Great idea Elisa. I was hoping there would be a session at some point on writing, and Lisa Stone is the ideal person for the task.

Session change on aforementioned Day One schedule

Thought I'd call out the one session we decided to change from the original Day One schedule:

Gone is the session on Syndication.

When we took a look we realized that syndication is a part of many larger discussions:

-Blog Beginners will learn about how to enable RSS feeds in the Blog in a Box session.
-Syndicating content will be a component of the Audience Building session.
-Using feeds to monitor and track is a key part of the Tagging & Tracking session.

This was a case where how you use the technology is the real topic at hand, not the technology itself.

So, in its place: a session that I have received numerous emails about: writing. The interesting thing about the emails I got requesting a session focused on writing was that the requests came from newer bloggers and seasoned bloggers alike.

Well, you're thinking, duh! I mean blogging and writing, who'd a thunk?

So, welcome our new addition to the Day One Schedule:

Ten Types of Web Writing: And how to execute them professionally. Lisa Stone walks you through everything from short-form sign post blogging to long-form essay blogging.

Hope it piques your interest.
