A Blogher Walks for Breast Cancer: Susan Mernit and Avon Breast Cancer Walk

Susan Mernit is going to walk almost 40 miles within San Francisco, CA to support the Avon Breast Cancer walk in July. As a walker, she has also committed to raising at least $1,800 for the charity and needs your help. You can make contribution on her fundraising page here.

She explains why she is doing this:

The net proceeds from this event (and others across America) will support non-profit breast health programs, as well as medical research to help find a cure for breast cancer. I am writing to ask for your donation to my team--we want to raise over $50,000 just from my group.

This year, over 180,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Over 40,000 will die. That's why we're walking. To do something big.To be a part of something special, and something very, very important.
