It seems to work better if

It seems to work better if the person already knows you to some extent. You could put it up on a blog but the answers would be kind of superficial.

Then again, it could be used as an indicator to compare your online vs offline self.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. So now that you have gotten your results do you think its a valid tool for a blog or do you think its best used with people who know you in the other areas of your life?

I've done one - it's making

I've done one - it's making the rounds on LJ.

There are a ton of traits that people see in me that I don't really notice about myself. It's been interesting.

You Say Johari, I say Nohari

As someone who prides themselves on being on top of business trends, I was somewhat shocked, dismayed and very embarassed that the Johari trend has been well underway for God knows how long, and I am just now finding out about it.

Another reason to be an astute and regular Blogher reader!

I learned about the Johari/Nohari trend over at But wait! There's more....Blogher Leesepea writes about

a stream of consciousness blur about a first-year teacher with opinions about careers, lifestyles, and everything in-between

This week she's celebrating her 30th birthday. She's also inviting readers to complete her Johari.

I can't even begin to recall how many other sites I've seen these Johari windows on, but they seem interesting and so I'm going to ask that you visit mine and select a few words to describe me.

There is even a more challenging version, called the Nohari window, that asks you to describe my failings. It allows me to see what others feel are my shortcomings and can be used as a tool for improvement.

Now not that I know Leespea well enough to describe her strengths and weaknesses but I tried to visit her window and I got this message:

Server Overload. Sorry, try again at a less busy time.

So here's my question. Just how rampant is this trend? Obviously someone is using it because the server can't handle the traffic. But, I haven't seen this before so I want to know who's doing the Johari thing , the Nohari thing or both?

And most important, once you do it, what do yu learn about yourself that you didn't already know?
