Crafting A Life: Catchin' Up

Eight hundred twenty four.

Every week I quickly check through each section of my bloglines, keeping tabs with everyone. Then I clear the decks and start all over. (I hear those gasps! Yes, if I've read it or if I've missed, every Sunday I start with a clean slate!) It may be the change in season and weather, but this week the crafters have been active. I've got 824 blogposts to work through. (total blogposts all catagories for the week: 3374) Let's see what they have to share:

First, congratulations to Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood, the genius behind CraftSanity Podcast. She now has a regular blog, Running with Scissors, as part of her reporter's job at the Grand Rapids Press!

Another first: Craft Revolution offered their first podcast in September.

Artsy-Mama is heading east She's be taking part in creative bazaars, meeting up with other bloggers and wrapping her soul in a full-on creative experience.

Jessie has started the BE BRAVE project: a commitment based upon an Eleanore Roosevelt quote:

Do one thing every day that scares you.

Anna Maria Horner is having fun with thrifted quilt pieces! Simple scrappy squares and partial finished Baptists fans. What fun!

Art Junk Girl is honest. She shows us "the pictures you WON'T see in an issue of "Artful Blogging Magazine." I must admit these photos look too familiar to me!

Just need some soothing photo time? Visit domesticali. Looking at this blog makes me really want to go visit domesticali... or maybe check into a B&B.

Check out this week's series of posts from the Grumpy Shopkeeper. She taught children some magic good dyeing techniques and the results are gob-smackingly beautimous!

Marimello believes she's found the best crochet tutorial ever! Not surprisingly, it's on YouTube.

Original Impulse Blog wrote the 13 ways to connect with your Original Impulse. She even defined "original impulse!"

Ready Made Blog points us to Jacqueline Skaggs and her Rebel1in8 necklaces for Breast Cancer Awareness:

In 2004, following her second breast cancer diagnosis since the age of thirty-six, the then uninsured Skaggs hit upon the idea of making necklaces to help pay her medical bills. Using smashed Rebel Beer caps for pendants, she strung together eight beads—seven in one color and one of another—to visually represent a woman’s one-in-eight chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. So if buying pink dish soap, deodorant, or yogurt isn’t sparking any meaningful dialogue, check out Skaggs’ Rebel1in8 Etsy shop (or try your hand at making your own “awareness” goods). Her recycled materials may be simple, but her statement is strong.

Timely post from Sew Green: Felting (or felling) in a drought.

Thimble gave some linky-love with her Friday Browsing Enjoyment!

Kate of Two Little Banshees got a surprise this week: one of her creations is featured in Vogue!

Blair has been working the lunch box. Wish I had someone to make one of these for...

Writing under the Faerie Moon discusses being an art nerd.

Just hit the "Mark All Read" button. Current BlogLines queue: 0. Wait.. 4... Now 17...

Debra Roby blogs her art at A Stitch in Time and her life at Deb's Daily Distractions .
