Deadly Cyclone in Bangladesh, Democrats Debate in Vegas

The Associated Press reports a cyclone packing 150 mph winds slammed Bangladesh's southeast coast late Thursday, killing at least 41 people and forcing hundreds of thousands from their homes.

CNN reports democratic front-runner Senator Hillary Clinton fought back at criticism from some of her presidential rivals, decrying what she termed mud-slinging and defending her record against the charge that she avoids taking firm positions on controversial issues.

"I am aware that some people say that, but I think that the American people know where I've stood for 35 years," Clinton said.

Reappropriate writes, "After the debate, James Carville thought Senator Clinton handled the question regarding the 'gender card; very well, but I tend to disagree. Clinton denied calling particular attention to her gender in order to attack her critics, but then spent the next several minutes essentially telling women that they should vote for her in order to shatter 'the highest glass ceiling in the country.'
